In 1981 the Amoco service station extended its sales area from the small till area by converting one of the service bays into a retail shop. This was extended by 1988 to convert the other service bays and extend the shop.
The trend for petrol station stores continued in 1996 with a major rebuild to create a new Sommerfield store. In 2007 the store was taken over by Spar. In November 2012 the store became a "Mace"
The Petrol Station became an Elf station in 1991 and in 2003 a Total station. Elf Aquitaine had merged with TotalFina in to become TotalFinaElf in 2000 and changed its name to Total in 2003. The refurbished site in 2012 became an Esso station.
A Subway takeaway was added in 2014 and from 22 May 2015 the shop became a " Family Shopper"
In May 2017 it became a Morrison's Daily convenience store.
